10 days Mount Kenya hike and Uganda wildlife safari is an adventure which will take place on Mount Kenya and you will also visit some of the famous wildlife parks in Uganda during this safari such as Bwindi national park for a gorilla trekking experience and also Queen Elizabeth national park where you will engage in a game drive or lion tracking experience and a boat cruise along the Kazinga channel.
The hike on Mount Kenya will take place along the Sirimon route which is very scenic and you will hike to the summit which is known as Lenana peak.
Mount Kenya is the highest mountain in Kenya and the second-highest mountain in Africa, after Mount Kilimanjaro. It is located in central Kenya, about 150 kilometers (93 miles) north-northeast of Nairobi, and is part of the Mount Kenya National Park, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Mount Kenya has three main peaks: Batian (5,199 meters or 17,057 feet), Nelion (5,188 meters or 17,021 feet), and Point Lenana (4,985 meters or 16,355 feet). While Batian and Nelion are technical climbs that require advanced mountaineering skills, Point Lenana can be reached by hikers with moderate fitness levels and no specialized equipment.
Mount Kenya is a popular destination for hiking, trekking, and mountaineering, and attracts thousands of visitors each year.

This 4 days hike will take place on the north western side of Mount Kenya near Nanyuki.
Day 1; pick up and drive to Nanyuki and hike to Old Moses camp (3300 m)
Hiking time; 3 to 4 hours
Your guide will welcome you from Nairobi and drive you to Nanyuki. You will meet the porters and proceed to Sirimon gate. From Sirimon gate you will hike to Old Moses camp where you will spend the night.

Day 2; Old Moses camp (3300 m) to Shipton camp (4200 m)
Hiking time; 6 to 7 hours
After having breakfast, you will hike through moorland from Old Moses camp to Shipton camp.
You will also have your lunch on the way and you will spend the night at Shipton camp which is just below the Batian peak, Nelion and Lenana peak.
Day 3; Shipton camp to Lenana peak and back to Old Moses camp
On this day you will start your summit attempt after waking up for an early breakfast. You will climb to Lenana peak which will take about 2 to 3 hours.
You will trek through steep scree to Simba Cole and the rocky terrain on your way to Lenana peak where you will enjoy taking photos to Mintos hut.
You will have a stop for lunch and continue to the ridge overlooking the gorge valley and Lake Michaelson. You will return to Old Moses camp where you will spend the night.
Day 4; descent and drive to Nairobi
Hiking time; 2 hours
You will have breakfast at your lodge ahead of your descent from Old Moses to the Mount Kenya bandas.
This hike takes about 2 hours and wildlife species can also be encountered along the way.
From the Bandas, you will be met by your guide and proceed to Nairobi where your guide will drop you off at your hotel for dinner and overnight stay at Le Maison Royale hotel.

Day 5; flight to Entebbe international airport (Uganda)
After having breakfast at your hotel in Nairobi, your guide will drive you to the airport for a flight to Entebbe airport.

On arrival at the airport in Entebbe, your guide in Uganda will welcome you and drive you to your hotel for check in.
Depending on your time of arrival, you will enjoy a tour around Entebbe or Kampala and later return to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay at Best western hotel Entebbe.
Day 6; drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National park
You will have breakfast at your hotel in Entebbe and, you will start your journey to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park.
You will have a stop at the equator and you will enjoy taking photos and visiting the craft shops around the equator.

You will proceed to Mbarara from the equator to have your lunch. You will proceed to Bwindi national park where you will check in as you prepare for dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma haven lodge.
Day 7; gorilla trekking experience
You will have an early breakfast and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing about the gorilla trekking.
After the briefing you will be allocated a gorilla family to trek and a park guide who is well conversant with trekking trails in the jungle.
During trekking you will have great views of other wildlife species like red tailed monkeys, chimpanzees, black and white colobus monkeys,
l’hoest monkeys, view forest elephants and buffaloes, different bird species, plant and tree species among others.
Once the gorillas are found you will be allowed to spend one hour with the gorillas where you will be able to learn about their behaviors, habits,
watch them carry out their daily activities like feeding, breastfeeding, take great pictures and record the moments to show people back home.
After the unforgettable moment with the mountain gorillas you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will meet up with your driver guide to drive back to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma haven lodge.

Day 8; drive from Bwindi national park to Queen Elizabeth national park
You will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park which is the second largest national park in Uganda.
The journey takes about 5 hours’ drive and on the way you will have a stopover at Ishasha sector in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth national park which is famously known for harboring the tree climbing lions which can be seen lying up in fig/acacia tree branches during the game drive.
You will also be able to view other animals like buffalos, elephants, Uganda kobs, some bird species among others.
After the game drive in Ishasha sector you will have en-route lunch and thereafter proceed to Queen Elizabeth national park where you will go for an evening game drive with views of animals like warthogs, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, elephants, bushbucks, views of the sundowner among others.
After the game drive you will drive to the lodge, check in for dinner and overnight stay at Elephant hub lodge.
Day 9; game drive and boat cruise
On the 9th day of your 10 days Mount Kenya hike and Uganda wildlife safari, after an early breakfast at your lodge, you will meet up with your driver guide to go for a morning game drive/lion tracking experience which starts early because that’s the best time to view animals when they are most active.
Game drives in Queen Elizabeth national park are commonly done in Kasenyi plains due to the fact that the plains harbor abundant wildlife species including elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, warthogs,
Uganda kobs, giant forest hogs, topi, bushbucks among others which will be seen grazing in savannah grassland plains with due, view predators like lions, leopards, hyenas before going back to their hiding areas, view some bird species among others. After the game drive you will have your lunch.

After lunch you will engage in a boat cruise on Kazinga channel and during the exciting boat cruise you will cruise meters away from large concentrations of hippos in water, crocodiles basking on the water banks, view animals like buffaloes, elephants, warthogs,
lions along the shores, water birds like malachite and pied kingfisher, pink backed pelican, saddle billed stork, herons, cormorants, fish eagles among others, view fishermen preparing their fishing gears for night fishing, take stunning pictures of the beautiful scenery among others.
After the boat ride you will return to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight Elephant hub lodge.
Day 10; departure
Your breakfast will be served at your lodge as you prepare for your journey back to Entebbe or Kampala.
You will have a stop for lunch en-route and later continue to Entebbe or Kampala which will bring the safari to an end.
